SIGNED Pair of Commodes/ Night Stands by Sandro PETTI, 1975

REF. 0648On Hold

Pair of Commodes or Nightstands by Sandro Petti. Italy, Angolo Metallarte (Rome), c.1975.

A rare set of Commodes designed by Sandro Petti in the 1970s. Sandro Petti label attached to one of the Commodes. This is extremely rare, as most pieces on the market are only attributed to him. Wooden construction with a tinted mirror top and brass detail. The corpus and three drawers are covered in wickerwork. The handles are made of brass and bamboo. The Commodes sit on thick (and rather cool) lucite feet. AMAZING DESIGN!

Angolo Metallarte was a prominent Italian design house active in Rome during the 1960s and 1970s. Renowned for its avant-garde furniture and lighting, the company became a cornerstone of the Space Age and mid-century modern aesthetic. They frequently collaborated with visionary designers, most notably Sandro Petti, to create high-end, sculptural pieces. Their signature style blended luxurious materials like polished brass, chrome, smoked glass, and lucite into geometric, sophisticated forms. Today, Angolo Metallarte’s bar carts, dining tables, and mirrors are highly collectable vintage items, celebrated for epitomising glamorous, retro-futuristic Italian craftsmanship.

Condition:

Good vintage condition, with some discolouring on the wickerwork. The brass could be polished, but shows a beautiful patina.
